THE OUTSTANDING OMNI

The Maruti Suzuki Omni is a microvan manufactured by Maruti Suzuki. It has been a versatile vehicle since its launch in 1984, serving both household and business needs. The first version of Maruti Suzuki Omni had a 796 cc engine, same as the Maruti 800. Sold simply as the Maruti Suzuki Van, this was the second vehicle to be launched by Maruti Suzuki. It arrived one year after the 800, in 1984. The name was changed to "Omni" in 1988. It received a facelift in 1998, and further minor revisions in 2005, when improvements were made to the exterior and the interior, and new colours became available. Later versions of the Omni includes the:-



  •  Omni (E), released in 1996, an 8-seater  version of the Omni.
  • Omni XL - 1999, as the Omni E but with a higher roof.
  • Omni Ambulance - A Omni E, designed for ambulance usage. This is the most common type of ambulances found in Indian cities.
 It's known for its compact size, affordability, and multipurpose functionality. The Omni is widely used for both personal and commercial purposes, including as family vehicles, cargo carriers, and taxis. It's a popular choice due to its fuel efficiency, easy maintenance, and spacious interior design.


In April 2019, Maruti Suzuki announced that they would discontinue the Omni after 35 years of production. As it was not able to meet India's updated safety and emission standards implemented the same month, which required new vehicles to have a driver's airbag, antilock brakes, seatbelt reminders, speed warning beeps and rear parking sensors. The flat front of the Omni also prevented the addition of crumple zones. Thus, after 2019 it got succeeded by the Eeco. And it's legacy came to an end. Despite it's discontinuation, it could be still seen serving onto the Indian roads.

THE PRESTIGIOUS PADMINI

The Padmini, also known as the Premier Padmini, was an iconic car model manufactured by Premier Automobiles Limited in India. Initially marketed as the  Fiat 1100 Delight , it was later rebranded as the  Premier Padmini  from 1974 onward.    Many celebrities, including Rajnikanth, Mammootty, and Aamir Khan, owned a Premier Padmini during its prime years.  Compared to the Hindustan Ambassador , It looked more modern, was more fuel-efficient and was very easy to drive.  By the early 1980s, It's engine power was reduced to 42 bhp (31 kW) (at 5,000 rpm) with a modified carburettor to make it more fuel efficient. THE MARUTI 800

The  Maruti Suzuki 800  was an iconic city car manufactured by Maruti Suzuki in India from 1983 to 2014.   The first generation (SS80) was based on the 1979  Suzuki Alto  and had an 800 cc F8B engine.  Widely regarded as the most influential automobile in India, about 2.87 million 800s were produced during its course of which 2.66 million were sold in India itself.  Produced for 31 years, Maruti 800 remained the second longest production car in India, next only to  Hindustan Ambassador .  The Maruti 800 remained the best-selling car in India until 2004 when the Maruti Suzuki Alto took over that title.  It was also exported to several countries in South Asia, including Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
