THE BOLD BOLT

The Tata Bolt was a hatchback produced by Tata Motors. The car was revealed at Indian Auto Expo 2014 and went on sale in January 2015.  The new car is based on the existing Tata X1 platform on which Vista and Manza are built. The hatchback is made available in both the fuel trims with 4 variants in petrol and diesel. The petrol version of the hatchback is powered by the 1.2-litre Revotron Turbocharged MPFi engine which gave a power of 90 PS and torque of 140 Nm. It had three drive modes namely City, Eco and Sport. The diesel model got Fiat's 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine dubbed as Quadrajet. The diesel mill churns a max power of 75 PS and torque of 190 Nm. Both the engines are mated to five speed manual transmission. Despite having better safety, features, more premium interiors and stronger engines, it didn't sell well compared to its rivals. Production of the Bolt ended in April 2019 and was replaced by Tata Tiago and Tata Altroz.
It features a stylish design, a comfortable interior, and comes with a choice of petrol and diesel engines. The Bolt was designed to offer good fuel efficiency, practical features, and a value-for-money proposition, making it a popular choice in its segment. It also included modern features like a touchscreen infotainment system, safety features, and decent cargo space. Although production has ceased, it played an important role in Tata's lineup during its time. The last recorded price ranged from ₹5.25 lakh to ₹7.85 lakh. The petrol variant offered a mileage of around 17.57 kmpl, while the diesel variant offered around 22.95 kmpl. 
Tata Motors had high hopes for the Bolt. However, the Bolt didn't capture attention. It was meant to replace the old Indica Vista, but its design resembled the outdated model too much, making it unattractive to buyers. Tata shifted its focus to the Tiago, which became very popular.
Consequently, the Bolt didn't do well and gradually faded away.
